Ameerah Tatum

Voice

Ameerah began her career winning a talent contest singing with her sisters in an accapella jazz quartet called The Tatum Sisters when she was only 10 years old.
By the age of 15, Ameerah became sought after by local Jazz, R&B, and Pop bands that played the club scene. By the age of 18, Ameerah was auditioning and touring with National and international recording artists. As a background singer and dancer, Ameerah toured with such artists as Sheena Easton, The Brand New Heavies, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, and Stevie Wonder, just to name a few.

In addition to her performance resume, Ameerah is the voice on countless radio and television commercials, and has also sung background vocals on the albums of an extensive list of recording artists, including Don Henley, the lead singer for the Eagles.

Now living in Chicago, Ameerah lives with her two sons and continues to add to her list of accomplishments as a singer, actor, and yoga instructor, working and teaching both locally and regionally.

There are many elements that go into singing, and becoming a good singer. Tone, pitch, rhythm, and confidence are some of those elements. Ameerah’s desire as a vocal coach is to help students find their voices by focusing on those elements.
