Christine Ebeling is a classically trained mezzo soprano with a passion for all styles of music! Christine holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Oklahoma City University and a Master of Music in Opera Performance from Northwestern University where she studied under soprano Sunny Joy Langton. Christine has previously sung with Northwestern Opera Theatre, the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, the Bayview Music Festival, the Taos Opera Institute, and Painted Sky Opera in Oklahoma City. Equally at home in opera and musical theater, favorite past roles include Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Didymus in Händel’s Theodora, Miss Jane in Adam Guettel’s Floyd Collins, and the ensemble of Nine.
As a voice teacher who has worked with elementary-aged children to college students to beginning adults, Christine strives to instill a sturdy, healthy vocal technique on the pillars of a classical foundation to better reach the variety of vocal styles. Remembering that technique serves to free up the voice to allow us to communicate a deeper message which words alone cannot do, the ultimate goal is to strive to become a passionate, honest artist.
In her free time, Christine enjoys running, practicing martial arts and enjoying all the live music Chicago has to offer! As a native of Kansas and Oklahoma, Christine has a love of classic country artists such as Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. Some of Christine’s current favorite artists include Ariana Grande, Bandi Carlile, and Harry Styles.
