Violist/Pianist R Rudolph Hasspacher (Rudy) is a native of Detroit, MI, now living in Evanston. Rudy holds a BA from Western Michigan University and an MM from Northwestern University in viola performance where he studied with Igor Fedotov, Roland Vamos, and Charlie Pikler, with additional studies at Peabody under Victoria Chiang. He is a current member of the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra, the West Michigan Symphony of Muskegon, the and Northbrook Symphony of Chicago. Rudy has previously been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Sinfonia Camerata, Northwest Festival Orchestra and the FullScore Chamber Orchestra.
Rudy is an accomplished and active semi-professional pianist. He started piano at age 4 and has years of experience teaching lessons to students of all ages in both Chicago and Baltimore. Rudy has earned certifications from the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has graduate-level training through Northwestern from their music pedagogy department. Rudy’s favorite composer is Johann Sebastian Bach. Rudy enjoys sharing his talents with his students, with humor and a sense of joy and deep appreciation.
